Well it all comes down to this. The car is on its way to the Mojave Air and Space Port in California where we will attempt to set the World Record in the standing mile. If things go well we will do three things
- Set a World Record for a biofuel powered streetable car in the standing mile
- Beat the fastest standing mile run by a streetable convertible gasoline powered car at 210.2 MPH
- Beat the fastest standing mile run for a streetable coupe at 217.8 MPH
We have rented the main runway. The same place SpaceShipOne was the first non-governmental aircraft to fly beyond the edge of space. We hope to go fast, but we have no intention of leaving the runway :)

Hi Karl,
Great blog--although I'm not thinking about a Viper, I am thinking about getting a biodiesel sport sedan soon... This is an inspiration for it!
I'm spending all next week in Nashville with Al Gore's team for presenter training at The Climate Project. Do you mind if I mention your E85 Viper? Think it'd be cool to spotlight. Best of luck on breaking the record. Wish I could have seen it in person. Let me know if you have any clips on YouTube for it!
